After Lorena found me on Pinterest through another Podcast cover I had designed, we chatted about what she was after for her own design. Her podcast ‘Late Checkout’ is a relatable, fun, carefree, deep and somewhat saucy podcast diving into lifestyle, embodiment and reflection. It’s all about those late night chats you have with friends that go deep. We wanted the design to feel saucy, sexy, and intriguing with sophistication. We explored this through the photoshoot, focusing on dimly lit velvet curtains, martini glasses, old-school phones, eating pizza, vintage cameras and a sophisticated outfit and style.
Our chosen design shows Lorena having gotten a little too comfy as she was maybe about to head out, dressed up and looking fabulous. The conversation was a little too good to miss, she’s listening intently and has put her martini down to focus.
I have then paired this image with a regal cursive font, and a more edgy serif font to contrast. We then use a more casual hand-written cursive font for the tagline to feel as if this was written in lipstick on the mirror as she left the house.
Overall, the colour palette and style is sexy, feminine bold and luxurious, hopefully enticing listeners to click to learn more.
